Sometimes when you meet people you just automatically connect with them. That is exactly what happened when we first met Katie and Tyler at a styled shoot back in July. They were our bride and groom models, for obvious reasons. Even though before the shoot Katie had told us if they weren’t what we were looking for then they wouldn’t be offended if we went with someone else…I mean really? Look how gorgeous they were….
While preparing for this shoot Katie went to try on dresses so that we could have one that was beautiful and fit. While she was there she stumbled onto her dress, for her wedding…like…the one. How amazing is that? This isn’t about that shoot, or about their wedding, that blog is coming shortly from this past Saturday as they became Mr. and Mrs. at The Barn at Broadslab in Benson, NC. This is about Katie and her bridals.
So let me start from the beginning, I’m not sure of what Kala’s first impression of Katie was, but mine was I think this girl is crazy. Now after getting to know her through photographing her 4 times in the past 5 months, somehow getting suckered in to working out with her and Tyler at Camp Gladiator, and just through hanging out I don’t think she’s crazy, I know this girl is crazy. It is a good crazy though. Katie has the personality that when you first meet her you feel like you’ve known her for a long time, which is very rare and welcoming.
One thing most people don’t recognize about Katie at first is she is tough. We had her bridals scheduled for a Friday, the Monday before she called to tell us she had pneumonia and the flu at the same time, but informed us she would be okay for bridals on Friday….it ended up raining us out, but still Katie was going to push through. Geez!
Instead everything came together on the last Monday in November and the weather was absolutely perfect. Katie met Krista at the venue a couple hours before to have her hair and makeup so beautifully done. Krista was born to do hair and makeup. Every time we have worked with her including twice with Katie, no one can compare. Once Katie was looking flawless, we went out to begin shooting.
Katie softly holding her beautiful bouquet, after owner Stephanie from Florescence Floral and Event Design delivered it, stood with such grace as the sun started sinking below the trees. Reminding us to get her “good side” whatever that means when both sides are identically stunning, both of our cameras were going off at a constant rhythm. Then came time to show off her perfect veil. I mean y’all, are these not your favorite photos ever? M-A-G-A-Z-I-N-E. Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y. Don’t you just want to drop all the heart eye emojis?
This is one of our favorite shoots ever, the entire time we were just hanging out with friends. We are so thankful to have been a part of her bridals and their wedding day. We love Katie and are so happy to share these photos with you 🙂
