Alyx’s Bridals

October 30, 2019

Let’s talk best friends. You know, the friend that you’ve known since middle school. The one that you just so happened to randomly sit beside during the first week of school and instantly had a connection with. “Did we just become best friends? YEP!” That friend. Well that’s what this blog is all about. The story of my best friend, and bride to be, Alyx.

#throwback

Alyx and I have been best friends since 7th grade at Jacobs Fork Middle School. She and I were always those “super quiet” girls. Those girls who hated raising their hands, getting called on, and literally thought we were going to die and meet Jesus if we had to present a project in front of the class. Who can relate? Our personalities were so similar, yet we were complete opposites. But we found common ground and realized we were going to be amazing friends. I was sure of it. We have been through so much together, I wouldn’t even know where to begin.  Here we are almost 13 years later, and she is still the person I run to for anything and everything. She is my person.

Last October, I received a text from Alyx that said, “I SAID YES!” with this gorgeous photo of an engagement ring. Y’ALL. I was 2 weeks postpartum and the emotions were stronger than Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1974. Tears, tears, excited screaming, more tears. I always knew this moment would come and I was overjoyed that Chance finally proposed. Of course, I demanded all the details! They took a trip up the mountain to The Blue Ridge Parkway to spend the day. Chance decided to pull off at one of the overlooks and pop the question! YAYYYYY!!!

When we arrived at Providence Cotton Mill in September to photograph Alyx’s bridals she was ready and told Reg and I that she was starting to get…nervous? Nervous? This girl is always cool no matter the pressure, Reg cracked a corny joke to help lighten the mood and we started shooting. Me on the other hand, was trying so hard not to cry all over my camera. My poor Nikon. Can you blame me? She looked so stunning! Alyx did an amazing job. So effortless. Moving like a red headed angel, she gracefully posed and made our job so easy. Her breathtaking dress complimented her so well. The elegant long sleeves and lace detail made for the PERFECT fall wedding gown.

Reg and I are so happy for Chance and Alyx! Now that they are Mr. & Mrs. Williamson, we can now share these gorgeous bridals of Mrs. Williamson!
